Iquitos

Its been more than a week than im in Iquitos now, so here are some informations about the city i live in !

Iquitos is the largest city in the Peruvian rainforest, with a population of 370,962. It is the capital of Loreto Region in the Province of Maynas.  Iquitos has long been a major port in the Amazon Basin. It is surrounded by three rivers: the Nanay, the Itaya, and the Amazon. The city can be reached only by airplane or boat.
Most travel within the city is via bus, motorcycle, or motokar.


The climate is hot and humid, with an average relative humidity of 85%. The wet season lasts from around November to May, with the river reaching its highest point in May. The river is at its lowest in October.

I feel like i HAVE to talk about Inca Kola, since everybody here loves and drinks it.

Inca Kola is sold in glass and plastic bottles of various sizes and cans of the same color with an Inca motif.

It has a a sweet fruity flavor sometimes compared to bubblegum.
Its a Peruvian soda owned by the Coca Cola Company .

AND, i dont like it. But peruvians do though =D

Iquitos

Arrived 3 days ago in Iquitos, i've met my Family. I have one brother, Diego and one Sister, Johanna. I Live in the center of Iquitos. My internet connexion is really slow, so i can't upload videos from here, i'll try to find an internet cafe or something, cause i've recorded a video of Iquitos and its streets. Tomorrow, i will have my first spanish class, so yayy i'm excited !

Here is a picture of a Motokar, its a sort of Taxi. And here, in Iquitos, there are Motokars EVERYWHERE. Thats crazy.

Oh, by the way, yesterday night, i went to the cinema with my family, and i've watched "son como ninos". was funny =] Anyways, i'll try to post as soon as possible. adios !

First days in Peru - Lima

Im in Lima, staying in a youth Hostel in the suburb. Going to Iquitos tomorrow morning, and finally meeting my host Family !
